Not Much Happening

Hello everyone, I'm back at last. No projects to show yet as the household has been a little sick but we're on the mend. Today was the day that I was going to be all motivated and get on with some of my projects as it was supposedly going to be sunny with a top of seventeen degrees celsius...horror of horrors, it's cold and foggy so perhaps another day.
Here are the first bulbs that I planted starting to flower. I still can't believe such beautiful flowers can come from such nondescript "packages".
We always have many hungry mouths to feed at our place. During winter I try to keep enough seed up to the birds to keep them happy. I think they have enough to put up with with the cold so they shouldn't have to go hungry as well. I'm sure they would feel much warmer with full little tummies. I have also been known, on occasion, to put warm water in their bird baths....I can't stand the thought of the bird's tiny little legs getting so cold. I have a direct view of their morning bathing rituals from my kitchen window and so it makes me feel warmer as well to know their water is warm.
The little glasshouse that we made is coming along fine. The plants inside seem happy enough. It now has it's little bracket from which I will hang it's name...something else fun to make.
John cut out the tin for along the top and I'm in the process of painting it. The little candelabra works well and throws some lovely light in the evening outside my daughters bedroom window.

So fun to hear from you again :) I am always wondering how it is in Australia and i am very happy to have met you :) Now you maybe can tell me when the winter is beginning in Australia?
The birds are so pretty, amazing how many you have managed to attract with your food! They are so qute :) The flower also looks great and you are right, i would never imagined that a beautiful flower as that would come out of just a bulb! And if i don`t remember wrong, they smells like heaven too :))

  4. Thank you so much for your encouraging words on my blog. I `m not very good att looking back at what I have achieved. I tend only to look at all the work that has to be done ahead. Not very good when renovating a house. I will try to remember your advise in the future and use alot of paint on the brush.....

Your hyacinth is beautiful. It makes me think of christmas since it is a typical "winter" flower in Sweden. I always buy alot of bulbs in december so I can enjoy their lovely smell just in time for the holidays.

I am so glad that I found your blog and would like to link it to mine......Hugs

  5. Sorry to hear you've all been ill. Yes, it's that time of the year for bugs I know. If it's any comfort, atleast you can know that you're all sharing the same little bug together.
You share the same love for birds as I. Those birds are the Red Browed Firetail are they not? I'm not accustomed to seeing them here in Victoria - no wonder! They're probably all heading up to Angela's for some first class hospitality!
I'll say it again. You're camera does a neat job of capturing the detail and colour of your plants -
    very nice indeed.
    Catcha.
